The works at Iver Station comprised the internal fit-out of the new station building to meet the requirements of the new Elizabeth Line services. The new station provides brand new passenger and staff facilities including a new Booking Hall and Ticket Office, passenger toilet facilities and staff welfare facilities.
The works to the footbridges at Langley and Taplow Stations involved the installation of a high-quality suspended ceiling system designed to provide an aesthetically pleasing environment for rail users as well as a practical and durable accessible ceiling system.
The works at Hamwell Station comprised the renewal of existing finishes including timber cladding and installation of new specialist finishes to seamlessly renovate the station buildings back to their former glory.
Hanwell Station is a listed building, so the works were executed in the strict accordance of the conservation officer and planning conditions, existing components were repaired, refurbished and re-used where possible to maintain the authentic appearance of the station.
Capel CS Ltd. works included the installation of Kingspan Kingzip and Top Deck roofing systems and associated gutters and downpipes to serve the lift shafts, LMR, DNO & Switch room roofs. Fire rated ceilings were installed through these areas.
Platform 1 & 2 included fire rated timber cladding to the lift shaft and lift motor room, including louvers and fire rated doors, new timber columns supporting the platform canopy were installed to replace the existing defective columns. The existing cast gallows brackets supporting the canopy were removed, these then underwent the following renovation works:
All castings were shot blasted and inspected – the existing castings were used as a pattern to cast replacements, where these could not be repaired. Repairs carried out included welding repairs for broken units and Heat treatment. The units were then returned to site, reinstalled and decorated to match the existing finishes.
The platform canopy also received new timber corbels to support the cast gallows brackets, new dagger boards and timber end panel, all decorated to match the existing station colours.
The final part of the works included louvered walls installed around the DNO room and Electrical intake room to the Southern side of the station.
